All About Me
I'm from Jupiter, Florida. Jupiter is a beautiful coastal town with a historic red lighthouse and lovely beaches. I feel very blessed to have lived in Jupiter my whole life. I love to swim, kayack, cycle, and explore the extraordinary nature found in my hometown.
When I am not reading or conducting research, I am usually writing. Poetry is one of my greatest passions. I believe that language is the most powerful thing that we possess and I want to use it to enact real change in the world.
Music has always been a large part of my life. After trying my cousin's violin at age 3, I begged my parents for lessons. I played violin until high school. At that point, I decided to focus on my true musical calling: the flute. I am a flautist of 10+ years and I played piccolo in the UF Marching Band. My musical background often informs my writing. I believe that my experience in the arts has helped me to foster my creativity and acquire great discipline.
I love to travel and Italy holds a special place in my heart. My study abroad in Rome during 2023 was an absolutely amazing experience and it ignited a desire in me to see as much of this world as I can. My ultimate goal is to cultivate a global perspective and make a positive contribution to humankind via science and art.
